Johnny Earl’s BBQ Sauce!

Johnny Earl grew up in rural Alabama where great BBQ was a tradition. This sauce represents decades of great sauce making from Johnny and his kin. Today his family carries on the tradition so your family can enjoy this sauce just like Johnny’s did.

Our Story

Growing up in rural Alabama in the 1930’s and 40’s, Johnny Earl learned to make BBQ sauce as taught to him from relatives who wanted to make sure the family tradition of great sauce making would continue. After retiring from 23-years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Johnny Earl went into the trucking and cattle ranching business. Johnny continued his love of BBQ, and would make large batches of sauce his family and friends could enjoy through the years.

Johnny Earl’s BBQ Sauce is an all-natural, sweet and tangy sauce dating back to 1923. “Our sauce has the taste of fresh, homemade sauce, like the great sauces did way back when”. We use the finest ingrediences of the best sauces from all around the great BBQ regions: tomatoes, mustard, vinegar and molasses. We use no corn syrups, artificial flavors or preservatives and is gluten free.

This is the kind of sauce where we say, “the sauce is so good you don’t need meat”. It however does work well on nearly all meats, from beef and pork to chicken and fish. Growing up Johnny’s kids, loved it so much, they’d use it on hotdogs and hamburgers as well. Johnny Earl’s family has taken over the tradition and continues to make the sauce exactly as it was made for nearly a hundred years.

Our Team

Donny Spencer is Johnny Earl’s son and continues the long held tradition of great sauce making.

Ted Distel is president of the company and is responsible for graphic design, marketing and co-manages production. Ted is an ardent food and bbq lover, and hails from the great state of Ohio.

Tomato Paste, Water, Worcestershire Sauce, Mustard, Brown Sugar, Molasses, Dried Garlic, Dried Onion, Distilled Vinegar, Natural Flavor, Spices

Refrigerate after opening.
